Archives For Family

good_enoughGood is the enemy of great, even in marriage. It’s too easy for us to settle into what we think is a comfortable marriage and before you know it, your marriage is so much less than it can and should be. And nobody’s got time for that!

So we’ve got to make time for what’s most important. We have invited marriage ministry leaders, Justin & Trish Davis, all the way from Nashville, to be with us next weekend, April 12 & 13, to challenge us to take our marriage to the next level. They’ve got an incredible story that you’re going to want to hear.

I know it’s going to be amazing. But here’s the deal, you will miss it if you don’t register very, very soon.

Register by April 7th and pay for the conference online. Registration is $50 per couple, and childcare is available for $5 (1 child) or $10 (multiple children).

Online Payment instructions:

  1. Set up a user ID using the “Get Started” button.
  2. Click on “Get Connected” at the top of the page.
  3. Click on “Events”
  4. “Refine Your Marriage” is the only choice you have from there, and the site will walk you through the rest of the procedure.

Let’s do this!

A Year in Pictures

No, not when Sgt. Pepper was teaching the band to play. That was long before. But 20 years ago today, I married my high school sweetheart, Pam. And looking back on that day, we were so young and had absolutely no idea what we were getting into. All I knew was that I loved this girl and wanted to spend my life with her. As it turned out, it was the best decision I ever made. I didn’t know at the time that she would grow more lovely as the years go by (and how they fly by too fast).

With the Lord as our constant foundation, we have held onto each other no matter what we’ve faced. We’ve been blessed with 2 beautiful daughters (they get their looks from their mom!). There’s no doubt that without Pam, The Connection Church wouldn’t be where we are today. In fact, her dreams for TCC are so big, that she is a source of motivation for all of us to reach out with God’s love.

Sweetheart, in case you ever wonder, I want you to never doubt that you are worthy, that I love you with my whole heart, and you are my precious princess. You are an example of Proverbs 31! Thank you for walking through life by my side!

Because of where we’ve come in these 2 decades, I can’t wait to see what the next chapters hold for us together!

New York State of Mind

June 26, 2011

For our honeymoon, back in the day, as young-uns, Pam and I went to sunny San Antonio for a memorable, but less than amazing trip. For years, we have vowed to remedy that. And now, as we’re approaching our 20 year anniversary (Yes! We’ve made it this far!) we celebrated with a trip to New York City, sans the chilluns! It was the best time and with God’s help, here’s to 20 more years!

Rather than having me give you the play-by-play, you can see the highlights yourself by checking out the video. But, in a nutshell, it was delicious food, a couple of Broadway shows, Letterman, the Brooklyn Bridge, the subway, Times Square, a couple of NY churches, the World Trade Center site, the stores, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the MET, the Top of the Rock, and more. (Okay, that was sort of a play-by-play, but check out the video anyway).

A Very Merry Christmas To You!

December 25, 2010

We wish you all the joy of Christmas and God’s best for your New Year. We’re so thankful to have you as part of our lives. We can’t wait to see what God is going to do in and through each of us in 2011!
