So Far. So God!

August 14, 2015

God has done it again! And He has used the faithfulness of the people at The Connection Church to make it happen. The momentum we’re experiencing is exciting as we’re seeing new faces every week. I’m sure you can feel it too. We want to enjoy and celebrate the victory!

Looking back over the first half of 2015, I am so thankful for the way so many people are stepping up and giving all they’ve got to achieve the victories we’ve experienced together so far. Just check out some of what God has done in the first half of this year:

  • 51 people have gone public with their faith in Jesus through baptism!
  • 2,236 people attended our Easter services!
  • We sent out 2 Go! Mission Teams: 1 to Guatemala and 1 to New Mexico!
  • 485 kids were a part of our Mega Sports Camp with 139 decisions to follow Jesus!

As exciting as all of this is, we know we haven’t arrived. We’re working intently on our campus expansion to increase our seating from 400 to nearly 700. There’s still a lot of necessary work that has to be done (and all of it has a cost). You can give over and above your regular tithe or offering to support The BIG 10 to continue our progress. We are driven by God’s call to bring the Good News to Hays County and beyond!

As a church, we consistently see lives changed for Jesus Christ because of the generosity of our church family. It’s a privilege to be your Pastor and your partner. Please continue to pray for our mission!

The Road to Cuilapa

June 7, 2013

It’s been a long day for the Go! Team. We’ve safely arrived, made it to Cuilapa, and have eaten some great local food: pizza in Guatemala City and mexican at the hotel. Most of the group is a little shellshocked at the amount of poverty and are finding it a bit hard to adjust. We’ll be getting up early to start work in the village in the morning. God is already starting to move in the hearts of the team. I can’t wait til we get to see the people in Agua Zarca! Pray that everyone adjusts to the different surroundings and that we get a lot done tomorrow.

Freedom! It’s as natural to us as breathing, so we don’t often think about it. How often I take my freedom for granted.

Today, we remember. And we celebrate. We’re free to live and move and worship and work and learn and earn and speak and love.

Thanks to all those brave men and women in the past and the present who are sacrificing for the freedom we enjoy today!

I’m getting together tonight with friends and family to watch the Kyle fireworks display (one of the few shows in our area happening tonight), renewed in my thankfulness for freedom and for the freedom we have in Christ. Let us never take it lightly!

Giving Thanks

November 27, 2008

We stayed home this year for Thanksgiving. A little unusual and I do miss getting to hang with the rest of my family up in Dallas. Pam made the most incredible Thanksgiving dinner that I can remember. I actually willingly ate the sweet potato casserole for the first time in my life and loved it! That only took 38 years. Now I can feel the tryptophan kicking in.

So while the football games are on the tv, we’re planning on pulling out the Christmas decorations tonight.

But the real reason for this post is to show you this classic TCC Thanksgiving video. Enjoy:
