Zak and his wife, Amber, moved to Kyle to serve at THE CONNECTION CHURCH in the Spring of 2005. God used several seemingly random events in their past to lead them to this one BIG thing that God was doing in their life…The Connection Church. Recently, they added their first child, Couper, to the mix.
Zak loves to take complex issues that everyone deals with in life and present them in user-friendly ways. “I don’t know any other area in life where we subject ourselves to 30 minutes of someone talking to us. Why should we expect people to sit through a boring church service each week?” He shares the life-changing message of the Bible in creative, practical ways with humor, relevance, and enthusiasm.
When asked who he is, Zak responded, “My life and role are all about people. More specifically helping them connect with each other, and ultimately with God. I love people.”
Zak is also the co-founder of www.launchingchurches.com where he and Lead Pastor, Cole Phillips help other church planters all over the world by sharing the successes and mistakes they have experienced at TCC.
Zak is a young visionary leader who wishes to re-create the way we do church. Consequently, he is constantly dreaming of ways THE CONNECTION CHURCH can create things that inspire people, celebrate life, and prepare us for daily living. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies in 2002. He loves wrestling Couper, magic tricks, wake-boarding, running, biking, and reading.
