Day 2

Dec 14, 2025

Read:

Genesis 3:15

Dig Deeper:

Man and Woman lived in total harmony and complete wholeness. They took walks with God in the Garden among fruit trees with ripe and delicious fruits and flowers of every vibrant hue you can imagine. It was life perfected. Then came that fateful day when Eve put her own desires before the will of God, taking fruit from the forbidden tree.

And yet, when Adam and Eve were found out, the first thing God did was share the redemption game plan. He turned to the snake, the one who had tricked them in the first place and shared the prophesy found in today's reading. This is commonly known as "The First Gospel" or "The First Good News".

In a few short phrases, God unpacks the war that had begun on Earth between good and evil. And that part about "he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel"--that's a picture of Christ suffering and ultimately triumphing over death, Hell, the grave, and even Satan himself.

And triumph He did! Because when the time came, God himself came to Earth through a woman, lived the perfect life, and was a sacrifice for us all. He not only payed the debt for that very first sin, but also every sin that followed, for all time. That includes yours and mine. So, this Christmas you can be completely, 100% free. That's a great Christmas gift if you ask me.

Declaration: Say this next statement out loud as a declaration of what you have learned today.

God's plan from the very beginning was made a reality through Jesus Christ. He has payed for all of my sin and has made a way for me to be redeemed.

Pray:

God, thank you that you had a plan from the very beginning. You were in perfect control, even when it seemed like things were spinning out of control. I pray that you would help me to live like I'm free. Fill my heart with gratitude for what You've done for me, and help me to share that gratitude with the world around me. Amen.
