Day 9
Read:
Psalm 118
Dig Deeper:
Have you ever been picked last for something? The pain of rejection can be tough to bear. The most famous line featured in this Psalm is found in verse 22: "The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone."
Jesus was hated and reviled. He was marked as an outcast by the religious leaders and later his entire community as they yelled, "Crucify Him!" Yet, as the Psalm states: He did not die. Instead, He lived!
And, when He rose from that grave, He truly became the cornerstone of our faith. Every piece of our faith is built around Jesus and that earthquake that shook the history books when the stone rolled away from his tomb. And because He overcame, you can too.
That line in verse 17, "I shall not die, but I shall live," isn't just a Messianic prophecy. It's also a prophetic truth for all who put their faith in Jesus. When you give your life to Him, you too will experience life beyond death, the truest form of life, with Jesus in eternity. And all it takes is a simple yes.
If you haven't put your full faith in Jesus today, now is the perfect moment. It's a free gift given by Jesus. No one deserves it. No one can earn it. All we can do is say yes to it, and then live in a way that honors that gift, making Him the cornerstone of our lives.
Declaration: Say this next statement out loud as a declaration of what you have learned today.
I shall not die, but I shall live with Jesus forever in eternity!
Pray:
God, thank You for making a way for me to have peace with You. I am a sinner, and I'll never be perfect this side of Heaven. Thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, to die for me and my sins. I want to live my life for You. Help me to do that well. You're in charge of my life. Thank You. Amen.
