There’s a simple formula for having a for real faith:

Know what He says + Obey what He says + Be transformed by what He says = For Real Faith

And, there’s actually proof in our lives when this happens.

The fruit of the spirit is the evidence of our faith. Many say, “We can’t really know who is saved and who isn’t–who has a true relationship with Christ.” And it’s very true that no one knows exactly what is going on in someone’s heart. Sometimes we don’t even know ourselves well enough to know what’s going on in our own hearts. However, we can see evidence of what God is doing on the inside by how we respond to the world around us on the outside. We can see evidence of Christ in our lives through the way we treat others and the way that we treat ourselves. Just like you know the type of tree, and if it’s a healthy tree, by the way it bears fruit, we can know the type of person, and whether it’s a healthy person, by the way it bears fruit. In today’s reading in Galatians, we got a list of bad fruit and good fruit in a person’s life.

Different fruits show the different roots of your life. When you are living faithfully to God, the evidence of that will be on display in your life.

Declaration: Say this next statement out loud as a declaration of what you have learned today.

I will display the fruit of the spirit as I become more like Christ. This is evidence of my very real faith in Jesus Christ. I will be more loving, kind, generous, and faithful to God’s Word, and my faith will be on display for the world to see.

Pray:

God, thank You that I get to see the fruit of the Spirit grow in my life. Let my faith be a living testimony of your salvation work. Help others to come to know You through the shaping that You are doing in my life. Amen.
